There might just be more to be learned in the service industry than any other career.
I always hated being a server several years ago and I always think to myself now days that even though I hated it, I did learn many life skills that I apply in my everyday life and at work, especially.
1. Patience - I have some incredible patience with clients but never with Comcast, nevvver.
2. People pleasing - I work in the Gold Coast, enough said. People pleasing can get you a lot further then you think though.
3. Doing 10 things at once for hours - I’m a huge multitasker and love it! No need to wast time.
4. Small talk - Just realized how much I have improved on this! It’s good to keep up on current events.
5. Brush off the shoulders - Take things like a grain of salt. Let me tell you it’s much easier to have this mentality then to stress yourself out about the little things. Stress is bad! It affects your mood, your health and everything in between.
6. How to treat servers - I would say how to treat people in general. You never know what the other person is going through, be kind please.
7. Taking care of business - I don’t think about what others haven’t done or could be doing, I just do it myself. It’s so simple.
8. Teamwork - I have always been a team player even when I’m the only one on the team, haha.
Take a step back for a moment and reaccess your current situation and apply these skills, that are your tools to a better life. :)
Before, during and after Classic French design @ my home studio today. 😁
So, 2014 was a really busy year for me and that’s why I literally disappeared for a year, ha! I had so much going on this past year, good and bad and now hopefully all good for 2015. I’m working on it to say the least.
Here’s a quick run down of what has happened since I’ve been gone from here.
* I have no longer been working at Beauty Bar since May. I just kinda faded away from there and started to work full time at the spa.
* I’ve gained a lot of regular clients at the spa who are amazing and I appreciate them so much!
* Once again I’m working at another salon that blows. Sorry to say but it’s just not quite working out for me for a myriad of reasons.
* In February of this year I dropped down my days at the spa so I’m only working there 3 days a week.
**** I’m working from home 2-3 days and week and loving it!!!****
French Ombre, my new favorite technique. So simple & chic and a good alternative to a regular French manicure. This client usually gets a regular French manicure but she let me do something a little different this time. 😁
Coral and gold, a perfect combo! @teamstil @biosculptureusa #biosculpture#biosculpturegel#nochipmanicure#coral#gold#nails#nailart#nailswag #nailsofinstagram#nailtech
See the transformation of my clients nails. I did the first creamy, white set 6 weeks ago. It’s crazy that she waited that long and all of them are all there, still perfect but just grown out. The third pic is after I soaked off the white set. Her nails are still absolutely gorgeous even after several removals. The fourth pic is of her fresh set. Thanks for being so loyal! 😘😘
